नंदनार – भगवान शिव का अछूत भक्त
परिचय:
नंदनार एक ऐसे भक्त थे जो समाज में अछूत माने जाते थे, लेकिन उनकी शिव भक्ति इतनी गहरी और सच्ची थी कि स्वयं भगवान शिव ने उन्हें अपने चरणों में स्थान दिया। उनकी कथा यह सिखाती है कि भगवान जाति नहीं, हृदय की भक्ति देखते हैं।
कहानी:
नंदनार तमिलनाडु के एक गांव में रहते थे और एक उच्च जाति के ज़मींदार की ज़मीन पर काम करते थे। उनकी केवल एक इच्छा थी — चिदंबरम मंदिर में भगवान शिव के दर्शन करना। लेकिन जातिगत भेदभाव के कारण उन्हें मंदिर में प्रवेश की अनुमति नहीं थी।
एक बार वह तिरुपुन्कुर के शिवलोकनाथ मंदिर गए। वहाँ नंदी भगवान शिवलिंग के सामने खड़े थे, जिससे नंदनार को दर्शन नहीं हो पा रहे थे। नंदनार ने भीतर से प्रार्थना की, और चमत्कारिक रूप से नंदी ने रास्ता छोड़ दिया, जिससे उन्हें भगवान के दर्शन हुए।
जब उन्होंने चिदंबरम जाने की इच्छा जताई, ज़मींदार ने उनका मज़ाक उड़ाया और कहा, "जब ये सारी ज़मीनें एक रात में जुत जाएँगी, तब जाना।"
नंदनार ने रात भर प्रार्थना की और सुबह सारी ज़मीन जुत चुकी थी। यह देखकर सब चौंक गए।
आखिरकार नंदनार चिदंबरम पहुँचे। वहाँ भक्तों ने उन्हें कहा कि मंदिर में प्रवेश से पहले अग्नि परीक्षा देनी होगी। नंदनार भक्ति के साथ अग्नि में चले गए और वहां से शुद्ध, दिव्य स्वरूप में बाहर निकले।
भगवान शिव स्वयं प्रकट हुए और उन्हें मोक्ष प्रदान किया। वे 63 नयनार संतों में शामिल हुए।
