प्रह्लाद: बाल भक्त
प्रह्लाद हिंदू धर्म में भगवान विष्णु के प्रति अटूट भक्ति के प्रतीक के रूप में जाने जाते हैं। वह दैत्यराज हिरण्यकशिपु के पुत्र थे, जिन्होंने भगवान ब्रह्मा से प्राप्त वरदान के कारण खुद को अजेय मान लिया था। इस वरदान ने उसे यह विश्वास दिलाया कि वह ब्रह्मांड का सर्वोच्च शासक है, और उसने सभी से उसकी पूजा करने की मांग की, न कि देवताओं की।
हालांकि वह राक्षस परिवार में पैदा हुए थे, प्रह्लाद बहुत कम उम्र से ही भगवान विष्णु के प्रति गहरी भक्ति रखते थे। उनकी विष्णु के प्रति भक्ति इतनी मजबूत थी कि इसे उनके राक्षस शिक्षकों की शिक्षाओं या उनके पिता की धमकियों से भी हिलाया नहीं जा सकता था। प्रह्लाद का विश्वास भगवान विष्णु में अडिग था, और उनका मानना था कि विष्णु ही अंतिम रक्षक और सर्वोच्च सत्ता हैं।
जब हिरण्यकशिपु को पता चला कि उसका पुत्र विष्णु की पूजा कर रहा है, तो वह क्रोधित हो गया। उसने प्रह्लाद का मन बदलने की कई कोशिशें कीं, लेकिन उसकी सभी कोशिशें बेकार साबित हुईं। प्रह्लाद अपने विश्वास में दृढ़ रहे, और उन्होंने कहा कि विष्णु सर्वव्यापी हैं और ब्रह्मांड के सच्चे शासक हैं।
प्रह्लाद की विष्णु के प्रति भक्ति से क्रोधित होकर, हिरण्यकशिपु ने अपने पुत्र को मारने का निर्णय लिया। उसने प्रह्लाद को कई यातनाएँ दीं, लेकिन हर बार, भगवान विष्णु ने हस्तक्षेप किया और उसे बचाया। हिरण्यकशिपु ने प्रह्लाद को जहर दिया, लेकिन जहर उसके मुंह में अमृत बन गया। उसने अपने सैनिकों को आदेश दिया कि वे हाथियों से प्रह्लाद को कुचल दें, लेकिन हाथियों ने उसे नुकसान पहुँचाने से मना कर दिया। उसने प्रह्लाद को एक चट्टान से फेंक दिया, लेकिन विष्णु ने उसे बचा लिया। उसने उसे जहरीले साँपों से काटने की कोशिश की, लेकिन साँपों ने उसे नुकसान नहीं पहुँचाया।
प्रह्लाद के जीवन पर सबसे प्रसिद्ध प्रयासों में से एक वह था जब हिरण्यकशिपु ने अपनी बहन होलिका, जिसे आग में न जलने का वरदान प्राप्त था, से कहा कि वह प्रह्लाद के साथ अग्नि की चिता पर बैठे। लेकिन प्रह्लाद की अटूट भक्ति के कारण, होलिका जल कर राख हो गई और प्रह्लाद सुरक्षित बाहर निकल आए। इस घटना को होलिका दहन के रूप में होली के त्योहार के दौरान मनाया जाता है, जो अच्छाई की बुराई पर जीत का प्रतीक है।
अंत में, हिरण्यकशिपु ने अपने अहंकार में प्रह्लाद को चुनौती दी, और उससे पूछा कि उसका विष्णु कहाँ है। प्रह्लाद ने शांति से उत्तर दिया कि विष्णु हर जगह हैं, यहाँ तक कि उनके बगल में खंभे में भी। क्रोधित होकर, हिरण्यकशिपु ने खंभे पर प्रहार किया, और उसकी हैरानी के लिए, भगवान विष्णु नरसिंह के रूप में प्रकट हुए, जो आधे मनुष्य और आधे शेर के रूप में थे।
नरसिंह खंभे से बाहर आए और ब्रह्मा के वरदान की शर्तों का पालन करते हुए, उन्होंने संध्या के समय, महल की चौखट पर, अपने नखों से हिरण्यकशिपु को मार डाला, इस प्रकार वरदान की किसी भी शर्त का उल्लंघन नहीं किया। इस कार्य ने न केवल प्रह्लाद को बचाया, बल्कि भक्ति की शक्ति और सच्ची भक्ति वाले लोगों को ईश्वरीय संरक्षण का भी पुनः पुष्टि की।
प्रह्लाद की कहानी अच्छाई की बुराई पर जीत और सच्ची भक्ति की शक्ति की एक मजबूत याद दिलाती है। उन्हें भगवान विष्णु के महानतम भक्तों में से एक माना जाता है, और उनकी कहानी आज भी दुनिया भर के लाखों भक्तों को प्रेरित करती है।
